Skate Profiling for Players

The manufacturer who made your skates doesn't know you. They don't know your style of play, tendencies, or habits. How could they possibly select skate profiling for players that would be best for you and everyone else who buys the same skate? Many player skates ship from the factory with mismatched profiles. Choosing the correct skate profile can maximize acceleration, agility, speed, and stability. Skate profiling can also put less stress on your hips, groins, and knees leading to fewer injuries. \n

How do I select the right skate profiling?

\nThe only way to know what is best for you is to test different profiles. The new pro-level standard is to have a Quad profile. This means having four different radii giving you the right balance of flat out speed, agility, and stability. We are here to help walk you through the decision process. A larger number means that the profile is based on a larger radius, which provides a flatter contact with the ice. This leads to higher speed and stability but can take away from agility and acceleration. \n \nOnce you have the right skate profile for your style of play you will never want to have an off the shelf profile curve again. Our state of the art ProSharp AS2001 machine can easily provide up to four different curve radii on every blade. This is the machine of choice for many NHL teams. This is very important, as blades will punch through the side of the envelope and get lost if not properly secured.
